We just got power back a few hours ago. We rent an apartment, and half our ceiling is terribly water damaged. Some of it's hanging down.
Our landlord's been by, but he hasn't fixed anything yet. I might have pictures of the damage for you in a couple of days.
My Mom, who is Scarlet Lib here on DU, has no damage to her house, but they have no power and no phone. I wanted them to stay here, but they declined because they've got 4 pets.
As far as Palm Beach County, about half of the places have power, and the gas lines are ridiculous. A good 1/3 of the stoplights are out, too. The county north of us was hammered, though.
The slow movement of this hurricane was the worst part - we had 65mph and above winds for the better part of two days, and 6-8 of those hours we had sustained 100mph plus winds. However, by the time it got here, everybody was ready for it...I don't think anybody was killed (as far as I know).
