2. One of my co-worker is from Grenada ... totally destroyed
she can't get through and doesn't know what to do. Her whole family is there. I've heard on the news that 85% of Grenada has been destroyed by Ivan.

The Red Cross couldn't help her because they've lost contact to Grenada.

13. LMAO...Are you saying that Florida is f*cked?
I wish those hurricanes would selectively pick on Freeper houses only.
Or those people who didn't punch hard enough in 2000.

But then, I hope EVERYBODY will be fine and nobody will be hurt.

Maybe Ivan will "turn the corner" ???

21. Found this photo in hurricane coverage. Maybe why Caribbean's
communications were down? This was posted Monday in the Miami Herald under aerial views of damage in Bahamas.

"An undersea communications cable was washed ashore on a beach at Grand Bahama. FELIPE MAJOR/THE TRIBUNE (NEW PROVIDENCE, BAHAMAS)"

5. Stay safe, Trumad.
Wow, you guys are getting hammered this year.

Insurance tip for Florida homeowners: Get your hazard insurance policies (especially windstorm) rewritten so that the policy period renews in the winter. Many insurance companies actually REFUSE to accept premium payments if a hurricane is looming. You won't run into that problem with a policy that renews on January 1.

6. Has anyone noticed that we have heard nothing about Cuba?
They got hit directly or indirectly too but there is zero news about what happened there.

8. Do you think our government cares
about Cuba? Or the media cares?

Besides...those Cubans are communists and support terrorists, so why should we care? (it's sarcasm)

11. Yeah, I noticed that
they showed the storm tracking over Cuba, and I thought shit those poor people are already forty years behind the world thanks to our embargo. I hope the world comes to their assistance.

19. Hurrincane Gilbert hit
Edited on Wed Sep-08-04 05:01 PM by Sequoia
Jamica back in the late '80's. I was there for the reggae festival and was robbed the first day..a guy sliced my purse strap and away he ran, passport and all. I yelled out...you'll be sorry, and a month later here comes Hurricane Gilbert. I even saw on the news where the damage was done to the hotel we stayed out. Unreal.

18. "We're staying boarded up until Christmas"
A woman said that to me today at a Publix in Miami, completely serious. Other than reopened businesses, I have not seen anyone taking down their Frances precautions, with Ivan lurking.
