Pro-Choice hypothetical condom
You know, if the conservative right was pro-condom use and education, we wouldn't have nearly as many abortions. That, and three girls from my advisory wouldn't have become pregnant in their sophmore year of high school.

9. Europeans have less abortions precisely because the emphasize
Sex education and increase condom usage and so forth

But noooo, not in the 'ol US of A.

We have a little old thing called "Abstinence Based Education"

No programs to increase the access to sex education, preventive contraception or condoms

This goes to explain a higher per capita rate of unwanted pregancies in the US vs. Europe.

6. But JK
Edited on Wed Sep-08-04 08:00 PM by MountainLaurel
It's not about reducing abortions, it's about punishing those whores who have sex out of marriage, or those sinners in marriage who want to control their reproductive lives and thus, their own lives.

Jeesh, get with the program Kleeb!

:eyes:

Edited to note sarcasm meant here.

11. When my now grown daughters were 5 and 6 years old
I started talking to them about sex being an adult activity and best when one was in a totally trusting relationship. By the time they were in fourth grade (so close in age they were always in the same grade) one of them brought home a couple of individual packages of condom. They asked; I answered. I demonstrated how they were applied. It broke--what do I know about condoms, I'm just a mom. Turned the broken condom episode into a math lesson, telling them that they broke or otherwised failed 9-15% of the time and showed them with a grid of 10 by 10 X's what 15% looked like. By the time they were in middle school, I was still preaching adult-exclusive activity "but if a school official handed them a condom, take it. It never hursts to be prepared." All of this education worked for one but not the other
