While hanging out at a polling place yesterday
a Freeper tried to tell me that the state's should tell the Federal government what to do.

So I said "That would mean we would still have slavery because the federal government would not have been able to end it."

His response? "Well, the cost of maintaining slaves would be high so no one would have slaves."

He was home schooled so I am now wondering what else these kids are being taught.

1. I'm going to start asking about elementary schools...
Next time I have to hire someone, I'm going to ask about homeschool. Seems like a lot of crackpots are resorting to home school.

2. honestly. ever hear of an atheist home school?
No. Only Christian conservatives think a parent with a HS diploma and fervor for god is all you need to be a qualified teacher.

5. Well he told me that ALL parents should stay home and teach
their kids. He also said that our large class sizes are no big deal.

3. The cost of maintaining slaves could be very little -
No federal standards exist and they certainly wouldn't get health care. Since they are slaves, no minimum wages, probably no nutritional standards. I suppose building codes might be enforced on housing but maybe not. Just where would the costs be?

4. I pointed this stuff out to him but he insisted that there would be
really high cost in having slaves.
