I wonder if the "Fox News Toolbar" is spyware...
http://www.infospace.com/info.foxnws/tbar/

The FREE FOX News Search Toolbar installs in seconds and includes:
Web Search - Find better results from the Web's leading search engines.

White Pages & Yellow Pages - Look up personal and business listings easily from one location.

NEW! Cursor Search - Search any word on a Web page by simply right-clicking your mouse.

NEW!News Ticker - Get breaking news headlines delivered to you wherever you go on the Web.

More Lookup Tools - Receive personalized horoscopes, maps, stock quotes and weather forecasts.

"Q: Is the FOX News Toolbar spyware?
A: Absolutely not. On the Internet, spyware is programming that is put in someone's computer to secretly gather information about the user and relay it to advertisers or other interested parties. The FOX News Toolbar does not secretly gather or relay information to any outside source. Any and all information (like ZIP Code and birth date) is used to customize your Toolbar with relevant information. It is never given to any outside source."

1. Why would you use it in the first place? I am sure they are tracking...
users for their evil empire. If you want a good Search Tool bar, use Yahoo's. It includes a pop-up stopper and an anti-spy system that blocks unwanted cookies.

3. That's why it's in The Lounge...wouldn't touch it with a 10-foot pole.
I use the Google toolbar...WITHOUT the "advanced features" that phone home to Google.

I just saw this on the Fox site and thought it was amusing, and wondered how many people would actually install it. "Fox Fans," I guess...

- Clicking on Sean Hannity's head will display RNC talking points right on your desktop.

-Clicking on Bill O'reilly will cause your speaker to blast "SHUT UP !!!" at a earsplitting volume.

- Clicking on Shepard Smith will cause your computer to reboot and run a program that removes any traces of "liberal propaganda" from your favorites and blocks IP's of popular liberal sites.
