R.I.P. Louie my ferret

Hey all,
Today has been a bit of a rough one here. We had to put on our of ferrets Louie to sleep. He had a cancerous tumor in his mouth. We were able to get about 3 more quality months for him through surgery but he went downhill rapidly Monday night and I think we did the right thing. Its amazing how our pets ask so little yet provide so much. I know there are quite a few ferret and wonderful pet owners here on this forum so I decided to post a little pictorial tribute. My thoughts go out to all those here who have lost animal friends. I don't know if I can bring my self to believe in the Rainbow Bridge (bit of an atheist at times) but I gotta tell you it sure would be a wonderful thing if it were true. RIP Louie I will miss you greatly.


This is Louie (6 yrs) who we lost today I might as well give some online love to some of our ferrets who has passed before.


Dexter whom we lost about a year ago (6 yrs) but still miss


Billie who went way too early but still brings a smile to my face


All three in happier times

Its been rough recently because most of these guys we have lost recently are all around 6-7 years old so their passings have come in the span of 1-1/2 years. Just to end on a higher note here are the remaining and still going strong ferrets in our household.

And now for the new generation, Dizzy (1 1/2 yrs)


Nina (1yr) the youngest feistiest and the scourge of toes and dangling elbows the world round.


Louie once more. Gone but not forgotten.

It's terribly sad to lose a pet. I lost my cat Beans over a year ago and I still miss him. There's nothing like a pet for unconditional love.

19. Sorry about Louie. We have four crazy ass weasels in my house,

so I understand... I didn't want to get any of them but my wife was obssessed with the idea of having them... I must say they are pretty great guys, smart, naughty and really much more affectionate than I would have expected. They seem to really like people.

my best friend had a ferret named Billy...he was one cool animal...they are so smart..it's a shame they have such a short lifespan...my sympathies to you.
