Poll question: Who more resembles Chris Matthews: Tweety or Barney Rubble?
Edited on Thu Sep-09-04 12:31 AM by 0rganism
Tweetybird has been the de-facto nick for Chris Matthews (Hardball, MSNBC) since long before I joined DU, but I think we should consider other cartoon avatars as well. So, who represents Chris Matthews more effectively?

You be the judge.

2. I never thought of that! I often wondered why you chose Tweety
but Barney is much better! Tweety was always the innocent little birdie who taunte Sylvester. Barney was the guy who was always complicit in the escapades of Fred,

I think we should change his dub to Barney. After all, he has tried to be conmpicit in Freddie's (uh, shrub's) escapades.

3. Heh, I didn't choose Tweety, that was someone else's stroke of genius
I can see how you might have thought that, and I edited the post a bit to make it clearer. I don't know who picked Tweety, and there is certainly some merit in that pick. However, my anthropomorphic cartoon sense looks at him and sees Barney Rubble.

4. I like Tweety for Chris

I used to be called Tweet by a few "close" friends or otherwise they wouldn't have called me it twice. :)

I always thought Angela Lansbury looked like Tweety Bird. That was my "now for something completely different" moment.

zzzzzz

5. Tweety works best because of the yellowness and the huge head
And also the flighty, whiny voice.

7. Gotta go with Barney on appearance. But "Tweety" just fits, somehow.

8. Well, maybe Barney is better suited to someone else?
Maybe the "Fox & Friends" morning show has enough goofballs to fit the entire core cast of the Flintstones.
