http://georgewbush.com/blog/Hey, everyone. We have just returned from the convention in New York City where we had an incredible week. It was so fun to be in the middle of history, in the center of the world -- New York. We met so many amazing people and had so many memorable experiences.
First, on Sunday night, we hosted the Youth Kick-off Concert at the Roseland Ballroom. It was so fun to start off the week with so many people who were as excited as we were to be at Convention. We got to meet so many young people who support our Dad.
Then, on Monday, we met up with our Aunt Doro and
our famous grandmother, Barbara (better known in our family as “The Enforcer”) at the “W Stands for Women” event. We listened to both of them, along with Mrs. Cheney and Liz Cheney, speak about the importance of women’s participation in this year’s election. All of the speakers were inspirational and are huge contributors to the “W Stands for Women” coalition. We have also become active in this coalition and have already spoken in Ohio.
It is a very important organization because, as our Mom has said numerous times, it was only 84 years ago that women received the right to vote, and women definitely deserve a say in the issues facing our country! On Tuesday, we introduced our Mom at a women’s luncheon. However, that was only practice for introducing that night at the Convention a special guest, Our Dad, from a baseball field in Pennsylvania.
And, most importantly, we met Arnold. He did an amazing job; his speech was incredible to listen to in person. And we obviously thought that our Mom, the keynote speaker of the night, did an amazing job! (Maybe we are a little biased, but we really do think she gave a great speech about our Dad!).
On Wednesday, we joined our cousin, George P. Bush, and his new wife, Mandi, to introduce Andy Card at the Youth Convention. And on Thursday we watched with pride as our Dad delivered his awesome acceptance speech. After his speech, we were invited by Emma Bloomberg, Taylor Whitman and Emily Pataki to attend The Next Generation party to close out the week. We had a lot of fun celebrating the incredible job everyone did at the RNC, and we know that all of the hard work of Convention volunteers, supporters and staff made for an awesome Convention week!
