37. Sister Rosa, should I continue writing my novel?

I am 2/3rds done (about 70,000 words/200 pages) and I've reached the point where I have to turn my characters, of whom I've grown quite fond, into complete beasts. The novel takes place in 1937/38 during the Rape of Nanking and is meant to explore the circumstances where otherwise normal human beings participate in extreme cruelty.

I've procrastinated for the better part of two weeks and I've realized that I like my characters too much to turn them lose in the city. FYI, my main characters are two young soldiers in the Imperial Japanese Army.

I'm a 41 year old, heavyset gay guy who has been having a no strings attached booty call thing going on for 6 months with a very cute (in a street trashy kind of way) 21 year old guy, who has a girlfriend and a 15 month old baby, and swears he's not gay (even though he's a HUGE bottom).
