An alert witness and a team of Houston police officers stopped a robbery at a northwest Houston fast food restaurant overnight and rescued several employees from the store's freezer.
Employees of the Burger King at 34th Street and Ella were closing up and leaving just after midnight when three armed robbers forced them back into the store and into the freezer.
An employee at the neighboring Taco Bell saw the three attackers' guns and called police, who arrived quickly and in force.
As some officers were removing employees from the restaurant, the three robbers tried to escape the back door, where more officers waited to take them into custody. Charges against the trio are pending.
