2. Voted for Pearl Jam
But the Smashing Pumpkins, Soul Asylum, the Offspring, and (I'll probably get flamed for this) the Goo Goo Dolls are all up there IMHO. I like the Chili Peppers, too, but I don't think they really hit their stride until Californication which I think was released in '00.

9. Where the Hell is Soundgarden??
I loved all the "local" talent, and hate to vote against Nirvana or Pearl Jam, but let's get real.... Chris Cornell is easily the best hard rock vocalist since Plant in his prime.

18. I love MBV...
... but most of my love is reserved for "Loveless", I find their other recordings pale in comparison.

But hey, Nirvana is deified on the basis of one recording (Nevermind), so why not MBV? :)

19. DARKEST HOUR
Here's a sample lyric:

One nation, under the gun
Where forward thinking is shunned,
a morbid tradition,
archaic value system,
Where violence justifed,
Is just another pride,
One nation, under the gun!

30. Pearl Jam
They changed my life...I was thirteen when Eddie Vedder and co. entered my world and opened me up to a whole new world of music. I mean, it was basically C & C Music Factory or some such nonsense for me before they came along, but then I woke up, and there was Nirvana, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Sonic Youth, Alice in Chains, Hole...I could go on and on. It's difficult for me to choose just one because they all had such an impact on me, but Pearl Jam is definitely closest to my heart.

Those were some great years for music. God, those were the days!!! What happened???

And who voted for Limp Bizkit? Is Fred Durst a DUer?
