1. I've Been A Fan Forever

Well, since 1983, anyway. And yes, I did go back and buy the entire catalog. TfTO is not a favorite but it has some very strong music. CTTE, for me, is the best "classic" Yes album. Relayer shouldn't be overlooked either, or Going for the One.

2. An extremely guilty pleasure..
It's hard to rectify my enjoyment of Yes's music with the fact that I've actually kissed a girl and don't live with my parents. Something about those things don't go together in my mind. Same thing with Rush, or any Prog-Rock that I like.

5. Seconded
But then I don't put on hardly any prog--no Genesis, etc. It's not bad, but I find it to be lifeless music.

8. Tales was very ambitious
and while I thought Close To The Edge was somewhat better, I think they really tried to extend their range with Tales. I used to have a copy - long gone now.

Relayer had its moments (they opened with "Sound Chaser" the second time I saw them in 70-whatever).

The Yes Album was far more straightforward, in some ways their clearest and least self-indulgent. The really early stuff, like Time and a Word, melodic but saccharin - with the exception of their Atlantic Records tryout cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "America".

Fragile is considered their pop classic, but...eh....

Nothing really mattered after Relayer. Bad pop and rehash....

Seen them 6 or 7 times.

9. Pretentious ArtRock
At its very best.
Fan since 1975.

If you like the older Yes, check out "The Ladder"

A very good album!
