I recently had to use the Brat diet and I thought it was Toast (don't like tea much)

6. Ginger tea.... no sugar... and or acidophilus capsules (probiotics)
http://www.cancer.org/docroot/ETO/content/ETO_5_3X_Ginger.asp?sitearea=ETO

>>Ginger has been approved by Commission E (Germany's regulatory agency for herbs) for indigestion and the prevention of motion sickness. Ginger is available as a tea, in powder form, in tablets, in capsules, and in candied form in Asian food stores. Many mothers give their children ginger ale to settle an upset stomach, but the soft drink often does not contain much ginger and some ales have artificial flavoring in them rather than ginger.<<

>>Phase 1 - onset or trigger phase - you came down with something, didn't get over it. This is the elevated RNaseL stage. RNaseL fights virus and intracellular bacteria like mycoplasma. Or it can be elevated without cause. This is why you feel crummy, like you have the flu. Also get TH1 suppression, TH2 activation. Perhaps this immune dysregulation causes your infection to not resolve properly, and you move into phase 2.<<

10. It can depend on what is upsetting it.
Chicken soup of some kind with added ginger and red pepper can help if it is just a gastric upset. Peppermint tea with added ginger can help as well.

Toast and plain crackers are good. If you need sodium, try corn chips, not greasy ones.

And, hummm... have you tried a pepto bismol type product?

15. Mint Tea!
It works wonders--at least it has for me. I went through a period where I was plagued with stomach troubles...probably IBS as it is commonly referred to now. Anyway, I discovered mint tea, and it really helped me very much. Before I knew about the tea, I would down some nasty Pepto whenever my stomach bugged me. Now I don't even keep Pepto in the house anymore...I just always make sure to keep a box of mint tea on hand! Just make sure you don't get any kind that has caffeine, which can be a stomach irritant and thereby cancel out the mint's good effects. And I wouldn't add milk or sugar either, which could also further aggravate your stomach. Plain is best! Celestial Seasonings and Lipton both make good caffeine-free mint tea.

Oh, and I have had good results from plain chamomile tea as well. Hope you feel better soon! Try a nice cup of tea! O8)

21. For nausea
frequent small sips of a cola drink. Remember the "cola nut" adds from the 1970s? Well, the cola nut actually contains chemicals that fight nausea.

In the old days, they used to tell pregnant women to combat morning sickness by buying Coca Cola syrup from a drugstore (this was the days when drugstores had soda fountains) and having a tablespoon full every two hours (ewww).
