CDs/Albums that should be made into movies?
I'm still holding out for the Marilyn Manson film of his works.

1. Marty Stuart's Pilgrim
Not your genre of music but a piece that lends itself to the screen...

6. You'd actually be surprised about my taste in music
The only musical genre I don't like is bluegrass...and that's because I had a bad bluegrass incident during my youth.

2. PJ Harvey
Rid of me

I also think Concrete Blonde's Bloodletting would make a good movie.

Though what images could compete with the sound is anybody's guess.

Not exactly sure where that should go, movie-wise...

15. Welcome to My Nightmare
Has an interesting sort of "song cycle" thing going on on Side 2. I think that album could be turned into a movie of some sorts. Might not be great, but it would at least be interesting!

Still a great album, as is most of his stuff from the first half of the seventies IMHO. Sucks he's parroting the FReepers on the whole "shut up and sing" line, but I try to not take politics into account too much when enjoying music.

12. "Operation Mindcrime" Queensryche, of course..
Also, "Warchild" by Jethro Tull.. supposedly, a movie was planned, but Ian Anderson scuttled it when the film studio wouldn't give him complete creative control.

13. "Blows Against the Empire"
while Jefferson Airplane was morphing into Jefferson Starship, but before the band's decline into tepid arena rock.
When Paul Kantner and Grace Slick still had their radical chops!
It got several Sci-Fi awards.
Find it. It's a great record, and it holds up pretty well. And it's drenched in radical politics.

Also, listen to Jefferson Airplane's "Volunteers."
The first record to get the phrase, "Up against the wall, motherfucker," on FM radio.
But also one with a huge amount of simply great music.

19. A lot of concept albums...
...would make for interesting movies. I'm thinking some early Jethro Tull, like Aqualung or Thick as a Brick, some of Yes's stuff, and pretty much any album by the Alan Parsons Project. Maybe the Smashing Pumpkins' Mellon Collie. Or Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak with all the story-songs on there...
