Listening to 'It's A Crying Shame' by the Gentlemen--there are exactly two ideas in it and it is derivative as hell, but damn it is entertaining.

3. Was it the Kingsmen that did 'Louie, Louie' ?
That had to be one of my favorites at that time, and 'Little Latin Lupe-Lu'. I think my age is showing!!!:hippie:

4. Yep!
Just about every band in the Pacific Northwest did a version of "Louie Louie" at that time, The Kingsmen, The Sonics, Paul Revere and The Raiders..

6. speaking of nasty mid-60s garage music...
I think I will go see Dead Moon tomorrow night (haven't seen them for a couple of years!)...the grandparents of garage rock! remember Fred Cole from the Lollipop Shop song "You Must Be a Witch" from one of the Pebbles albums (I think it's on the Nuggets cd)...
They were in the "Hype" movie but eren't grunge nor were from Seattle...I still scratch my head about that...
