1. I voted Elaine Joyce ;-) but two significant others are there

Fannie Flagg (yes THAT Fannie Flagg) wrote "Fried Green Tomatoes"

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0280840/

and Marcia Wallace was of course Bob Newhart's receptionist AND is the voice of Edna Krabapple on the Simpsons.

2. My God, I loved Fannie Flagg.
The BEST thing about Match Game, IMO.

3. No, no, no.
Brett and Chuck were far more fun than Fannie.

I voted for Ms. Wallace, but I do enjoy a little FF diversion now and then. I liked it when they were BOTH on! :D

4. No, the microphone was the best thing about Match Game.
Gene Rayburn really got into his props...

VERY suggestive. :-)

27. I Know...
Only, I think they were using it as a tongue depressor or a flashlight prop for some dental joke.

15. How the hell
do you guys remember that?? I'm somewhat *cough* older than you guys and I barely, vaguely remember Fannie Flagg...but that's it. Oh, and Marsha cos she was on Bob Newhart...but the rest of that...no clue.

21. Cartoons are like game shows.
Except cartoons are way more cerebral.

23. And they usually don't have game-show-themed cereal.
I don't link "Wheels of Frosted Fortune" would sell well, anyway.

19. We spent an entire summer watching Game Show Network
Before it was "Friend or Foe" and "Lingo" and all of their made-for-right-now crap, they showed reruns of 1970s game shows. It was a great time-waster.

6. Wow. That's a toughie.
Between Fannie Flagg and Marsha Wallace. Hmmm...Tough choice, but there is someone missing, isn't there? I give you, the one, the only, Brett Somers!

11. Brett Was A Regular...
... I was limiting this poll to semi-regulars. (Otherwise Brett has an unfair advantage since she IS the Match Game QUEEN after all!)

18. Yes... Brett Is Still Alive And Lives In NYC. I Wrote To Her Recently...
... and she wrote back and included a personalized autograph photo. It's very cool!!!

--- Allen

P.S. EXCELLENT CATCH! Of course Charles is the QUEEN. I should have thought of that myself. Funny!

Oh, and BTW, you should thank whoisalhedges for the Charles catch. He came up with that one, not me. Much to my regret!

10. I Like Them All... But Patti Deutsch And Her Deadpan Delivery
on the dumbest, silliest, (and funny) answers *always* manages to crack me up.

-- Allen

(Poor Joyce Bulifant... her answers were just plain stupid. Rather than being genuinely funny, her replies just left me shaking my head in disbelief. --- I don't remember many times when she actually matched the contestant.)
