But I hate that retconning bullshit they came up with to justify new ones. I like how they didn't even attempt to explain how A-Ko and B-Ko survived re-entry. They should have just had the girls wear hats made of money. :silly:

That Gray Side crap was awful too. They used to show it on Sci-Fi channel all the time during that anime week they would have with Apollo Smile...gawd I hated her...

Sorry but I think Gainax is really overrated...I hated Evangelion and thought FLCL was alright but too short.

Watch everything Kef mentioned. Other great shows: Hellsing, Gundam SEED (which I believe is on Cartoon Network atm), Kyou Mara Maou, Gensomaden Saiyuki...there's tons of stuff.

If you're looking for stuff to watch, you could always do what I do: hit an anime torrent site and get the names of shows and Google up some reviews. I've found a lot of great shows that way.

18. You're probably right.. I need to get out more.

FLCL spoiled me, I loved it, LOVED IT from the first frame to the last. I judge everything against it. I also liked Evangelion, so I guess you can say I'm a huge Gainax fan. I also judge against Bebop.

20. Something you'd probably like

I don't have a link handy, but there is a hilarious music video I've seen at a couple of conventions now. Someone took Tank! (Cowboy Bebop's OP), and did an alternate OP for Evangelion, but in the style of Bebop's opening. It was really well done and very funny...picture Angels dancing like Ed and you get the idea. :) If you look around on Google you can probably find it.

21. Yeah I know...blasphemy LOL

I was seriously underwhelmed by Evangelion. End of Eva made me think that maybe the War on Drugs, which I otherwise don't agree with, should be brought to Japan. :P

Besides, I totally can't take Evangelion seriously ever since I first saw the infamous fandub parody ReDeath. I've tried to sit down and watch the show after that, but every time Gendo walks on screen I start humming that pimp music and start giggling like a mofo. :)

13. Full Metal Alchemist or One Piece

If you can't get dvds of current anime, don't worry. FMA is going to be on the Cartoon Network this Fall and One Piece is going to be on the Sat. Fox line-up. FMA= 45 some eps. OP = something like 150+

At times like this I think we were separated at birth...LOL. Watching everything on that list myself. I'm especially loving FMA, which I only started watching. I went to the big L'Arc~en~Ciel concert at Otakon last month and the show started late, so they played an episode of FMA. I was hooked. (The dub is actually not half bad but I'm grabbing the subs off torrent as fast as I can)

I'm also watching Chrno Crusade. It's sort of like a cross between Buffy and Hellsing: a trigger happy nun and her demon sidekick hunt nasties in the Roaring Twenties. It's pretty cool.

I just started watching 2x2 = Shinobuden not too long ago, it's a brand new show...I think the fansubbers just released episode 5. Very funny, ecchi little series about a dumbass apprentice ninja girl and the clan of total incompetents she belongs too. If you like Excel Saga and Digi Charat, you'd probably like this show too--it's definitely that sort of humor.

Oh yeah! Marimite, aka Maria-sama ga Miteru aka The Virgin Mary is Watching You. It's a yuri show, with some beautiful artwork and character design, about girls at a Catholic school. Yeah, I know, sounds like a bad hentai show...but it's very sweet and angsty. It's kind of like Shoujo Kakumei Utena, only with an all-female cast, and it actually makes sense. ;)
