I just received a call from the Christian Coalition.....

18 years ago I gave some money when I first became a born-again Christian. I haven't given any money since then. Today I received this call from them thanking me for my past support and they were asking for more money to distribute a voter's guide for Christians to combat the push for GL legal marriages (in a few more words, though). I told him "NO! God is not a Republican or a Democrat". He said this is not the issue and continued with more Robertson spin, then I said I am for civil rights. He said, "oh, thank you then." (I think the guy was African-American by the sound of his voice.) And with that, the phone call ended. I wish I would've added I'm for separation of church and state, too! Dang it! I was caught off guard!

I can't believe they called after all these years. I was so mad! :mad:

I still consider myself a born-again Christian. I'm sure they tow the Republican line! I differ with them on their thinking though. I consider myself a liberal Christian. Sorry I can't offer you any tid bits! LOL

Even if Jesus Himself ran as a Democrat, they would endorse His GOP opponent. Considering Pat Robertson's understandable anger with the Chimp over the Karla Fay Tucker case, it's almost "miraculous" how soon Pat was on the side of Team BCE again. Though I'm sure Jesus had nothing to do with that "miracle".

I can't STAND Robertson anymore. Years ago after listening thoroughly to his worldview and seeing how involved he was becoming in politics and especially when he ran for president----it totally turned me off because I was raised to believe in separation of church and state and I come from a very liberal family. Further thinking on my own and study of the bible made me develop my own conclusions regarding my faith and my politics. I'm not one to follow blindly and I like to look at all sides before I develop my own opinions. My 5-year stint with organized religion (church) and learning about the Chrisitan right taught me enough to know that people are being deceived. I still have a relationship with the Lord but I don't follow any man and I rely on my heart, my mind and what I feel is the Holy Spirit and the combination thereof.

If anybody had the true spirit of the Lord in them, they would see that the fruits of the Christian-right don't really follow what Jesus did and taught according to the bible. Sorry to rant/babble but I feel strongly about this.
