Did anyone just see the Fox News story on the Brady Bill?
Judge Andrew Napolitano was interviewing a Brady supporter who was discussing how Islamist groups had been buying weapons at gun shows in the US for years.
Judge Napolitano then declared "if Todd Beamer had an AK 47, then Flight 93 might have landed safely." He was arguing that assault rifles have legitimate uses.

I am still shocked.

2. If he had an AK-47, they wouldn't have had a chance will box cutters
Edited on Fri Sep-10-04 05:02 PM by Massacure
It is very true.

An armed population is a polite population. However I wouldn't want a fire fight on an airplane. Of course they need restrictions, but they don't need to be banned.

15. Problem is, a person is, a priori, a "non-violent criminal" until he
uses a gun violently for the 1st time. Then, of course, it's too late.

7. doesn't
"the judge" know that firearms aren't allowed where alcoholic beverages are sold? Do they want to change that law also? Yeah, thats the ticket, put a bunch of people in a closed in space, sell them beer and let them carry guns. I can see that working out real well.

11. In love your sigpic
I love Northwest art.

sorry, I know this is a gun discussion, but, my love of art got in the way. Maybe that is the problem with our country, too many guns and not enough art!

14. I have had several necklaces of that style
from the Galligaskins ( Alaska) catalog. I have Raven and also Orca. Nice fish... my brothers fish, but I have no idea what kind of fish that is.

19. tribal
is kinda old I guess, everyone has one now. The Northwest art you love is some of the best I've seen. When I go into culture centers with that art on display I can stare at it for hours, wonder what was in the mind of the artist at the time. It's fascinating.

13. er, ok then
Was Todd Beamer a pilot then? Look, under the best possible circumstance, the passengers retake control of the aircraft. And then what? this isn't a bad movie where the stewardess lands the plane with help from Air traffic control. No, all they're gonna do it steer you away from population areas and let you crash. Sorry. No one is going to risk a major metropolitain area with a non-pilot at the controls.

16. did they kill the pilots before the crash or were they killed on impact
and yes, its not like he could fly the plane to safety, and even if he could, he would need to know ATC call symbols and stuff.

20. they do it in movies
sorry had to say that. But if we use Judge Fox whore's idea it wouldn't matter because the machine gun fire in the airplane would depressureized it and sucked everyone out. It woulda been the wild west in there with machine guns legal. I'm seeing a movie idea.
