Once again I have the odd desire to join the Royal Canadian Navy
It happens every now and then. I'd like to see the world, and would probably have something to do with communications if I entered. Any ex-navy/navy duers care to share their opinions of the Navy.

4. A 17-y.o. who knows who Ernie Pyle was?
I'm impressed! (Even if said 17 y.o. is afraid of Speedos!)

5. Better Ernie that Gomer
Alot of old school journalists were in the army actually. Many got their journalism traing through it - Hunter S. Thompson being one, actually he was in the Airforce.

6. I do too but I wouldnt want to be in the navy
I'd rather be Private than Ensign :D, but then again I feel like Kerry 43 years ago getting inspried by Kennedy, I wanna be like Johnny Forbes Kerry :D, heh yeah I am strange, but I actually have a Bobby Kennedy dream now, to be like a journalist or something, Ive considered political writing, comedy writing, and sports.

9. Sports can be fun
But you can't just get into Political coverage. Be prepared to live in a small town for a bit then move on.
I think you really should do it. It's a hell of a cool job.

10. I want to major in political science
and minor in journalism. Oh I believe you, I think I'd love it. Yeah I know I cant start with politics, I like comedy writing a lot, thats why I like being silly.

11. I'm a Navy DUer.... sort of.
I took the bribe from the Navy to pay for the rest of my schooling. I just couldn't afford it anymore. Getting a job is also too difficult, so I took a job that won't see combat and allows alot of time for school.
My little 'bro just joined the US Marines 6 months ago... he's another military democrat who REALLY wants GWB OUT of the Whitehouse. I feel bad, because he is an artilleryman who will most likely be put into an infantry unit once he gets to Iraq... meaning he will be at major risk.
Anyway, the reason I picked the Navy over other forces is that I also love the sea, and have always been drawn to it. I also live close to San Diego CA and know that I will most likely be stationed there.
