Tomorrow Morning!
This is my last day at work. I usually never post from work unless I'm on a break, but I'm cutting myself some slack today.

I can't believe that tomorrow morning we're going to the hospital, they're gonna open me up like a mailbox, and pull out my baby! I cannot wrap my mind around it. I feel like a meteor is going to hit New York City and the world will just end before that actually happens.

Anyway, I'll be in the hospital for a couple days and I won't be able to post. But when I come back I'll tell you all about it, and I'm sure I'll have some pictures of my son.

My mom is scheduled to fly up here on Tuesday, but is worried about getting a flight out of Florida because of Ivan.

It's just all too weird. I can only take it about a minute at a time.

Well, I love you guys. I'll be checking in today as I can.

:hi:

18. Indeed!
I'm afraid that if I weren't having a c-section, he would just stay in there until we have a Democratic president.

3. I had two c-section births, and that was a long time ago..
in 1979 and in 1982. It was a piece of cake, actually! I must give a large credit for this to my first hospital roommate, who also had a C-section delivery. She was up and taking care of her baby in a matter of hours, made it look so very easy, she had no pain, no meds for pain. Now, I couldn't run around much for about 24 hours or a bit more because I had very low blood pressure, and got too dizzy. But she made it very, very easy for me, with her example.
Is this your first child? Their is no experience in the world to compare to holding your child in your arms and seeing that little face!
Good luck!

10. Thanks.
It helps a lot to hear stories of how easy it is. It's hard not to freak out about being cut open while awake. But I wouldn't want to be asleep. I want to see him and hold him right away.

I remember how devastated we all were when your accident happened.
Congratulations on your baby boy.
Don't worry, C sections are a piece of cake.
Plus, we're all pulling for you.

8. C-sections are GREAT! The drugs are great, the procedure goes fast, and
you have NO pain... and, while on drugs, you get to say REALLY silly things!

It was a fascinating experience, and the recovery really wasn't a big deal at all. JUST DON'T DRINK APPLE JUICE.

Congratulations, have a GREAT time, and welcome to parenthood!

9. Is that your first? Because it it is...
It is an awesome feeling that no one can describe. I think the moment my son was born was one of the happiest (if not the happiest) point of my life.

The minute your son is born and you hear that cry it is the best feeling you will ever get! Congratulations!

15. Yep.
This is our first child. We tried for 3 years (including 1 miscarriage) and I can't believe it's finally happening. I just want to hold him and see that he is healthy.

26. Garrison
I was going to DU poll for his name, but I got stuck on Garrison some time ago. I just started thinking of him as Garrison, and every other name was just not Garrison.

30. Thanks again to everyone.
Well, I'm done. I'm done with my last day at work at the Center. This place has been such a huge part of my life for the past 5 years. I can't believe I'm not coming back as a scheduled employee. (I will sub a shift here and there at the front desk. This community center is impossible to leave cold turkey.)

I've been so lucky to have had 2 jobs that I love and to be able to pick between them. My other job won out over the Center because there's more room for growth and more money. So many people are looking for one job that they can tolerate. I'm truly blessed.

So tomorrow I have my baby. Then I'm on leave! Woo-Hoo! Then I go back to work as a Development Associate, full-time and on a livable salary. It seems like I have everything. The only other thing I can hope for is a Kerry victory in November!

Love to all!

32. 28 years ago on September 30th I had
a c-section and welcomed a bouncing baby boy named Brandon into my life. I wasn't able to be awake during the c-section even though it was an option back in the olden days because I had broken my neck in a wreck when I was a teenager.

You'll do fine and the c-section incision doesn't hurt all that much. I didn't take any type of pain medication for 10 hours after I woke up from the surgery because I was so excited and happy he was finally here.

You deserve nothing but the best after all you've been through. My thoughts and prayers will be with you over the next few days.
