I'm MS Excel challenged--this should be easy, I think, but I can't
figure it out. Concerning charts:

I have data that I want in the X-axis, but Excel puts it into the Y-axis.

Without changing the layout of my entire spreadsheet, is there a way to do this?

Thanks in advance!

1. Is it just a column of data?
If so, do this:

1) Highlight the data you want to move and copy it.
2) Right click and select "Paste Special"
3) Select the "Transpose" option

That should do what you want.

2. Get your data into two columns. X axis data in the first column and Y axis
data in the second column. Select the two columns, click Chart Wizard, and then (this is the piece you are missing I think) select "XY (Scatter)". Select the chart sub-type you want, and click finish.
