Notice: SarahBelle's PC is about to crash.
It's on it's last leg here and we're saving files and trying to fix stuff. I may not be online for awhile. :grr:

It's been quite a day.

10. Not sure.
It only operates in safe mode. It restarted yesterday morning after the 20th time of trying. Mr Belle did some stuff apparently to try to get it going (he took some classes to get A++ certified a few years ago for ha-has, but never took the test) and it's pretty messed up. We lost touch with the printer. It's so time for a new computer, but it'll be a month before a new one. I guess I'm still here, but only on borrowed time really.

Anyone, tell me what you know about Macs. :grr:

12. Oh, it's a Mac?
Haven't used a Mac since the mid-90s Macintoshes. Around that time, everything was moving toward Windows and it seemed everyone stopped using Apples. Yeah, real smart.

If it's anything like a PC, did you try reformatting and reloading the system? Sometimes this will make it like brand new.

If it's a really old system, wouldn't be a bad idea getting a new system.

13. No, it's a PC.
It's been reformatted and reloaded. It's a mess. I asked about Macs because I am so fed up with PCs at this point. Yeah, it's old enough. Almost 5 years old now.

14. That's weird
Usually reformatting erases the whole hard drive. Your hard drive might be messed up and not reading right.

This system could be saved by putting in a new hard drive, but it sounds like it's a pretty old system. I have a five-year old system as my second computer, and it's showing it's sluggishness (it's a Pentium II, 350Mhz, Win 98, 128MB RAM).

I would have the hard drive checked out, and if you want to salvage the system as a backup computer, put in a new hard drive. They're pretty cheap, and fairly simple to install. Otherwise, buy a new system (also pretty cheap nowadays) and donate the old unit to a good cause (making sure the entire hard drive is erased).

11. Still here.
Barely, in safe mode, and on borrowed time.

One of our cars won't start either. The mortgage is due in a couple days (always a bad week for this type of thing), and life is one big bowl of pits. One good thing is that I found another job to apply for that I won't get. Woo-hoo! :bounce:
