Do you lurk anywhere interesting?

Just wondering. I post a lot to another board where we debate freepers (they HAVE to behave themselves). Some of the more liberal over there were talking about giving it up simply because the die-hard Kerry people are debating die-hard bush people and what's the point of that, when someone brought up lurkers.

See, the liberal viewpoint is represented heavily on that site compared to the freeper viewpoint. There are about three freepers, a handful of other bush people, but they can hardly form coherent arguments, and then us. LOTS of us and we're good.

So that made me think: there probably are loads of people who just lurk there and THOSE are the people we are really convincing.

I read the initial entries on the main page. Rarely do I venture inside. I go there for the wonky aspect of it. Very smart people their. Not a lot of dumb asses like me.

3. I lurk on Time Bomb 2000 (TB2K)

sometimes. I joined but I hardly ever post because they are mostly made up of 3rd party supporters who favor Bush but won't vote for him yet they are always attacking Kerry. I don't quite understand it. Every now and then I get mad enough to post something but I just get smart remarks. There may be a couple of liberals on the board but they are few and far inbetween. I don't go there so much anymore because I get tired of reading their misperceptions about liberals and you aren't going to change their mind about anything. Anything that has any credibility that I post just gets ignored and thread just floats away.

I also go to a religious/conspiracy theory/bible prophecy/anti-globalism group and they are much nicer and they don't argue with you and basically have good discussions. They are mostly conservative and right wing but they are not nearly as vicious as other Christians and RWs can be. They let me post my liberal links and nobody says much at all and some of them like the posts. They think America is planning martial law and concentration camps no matter who's in power.

I also am a member of RunningOnEmpty2, the peak oil group, and it appears that most of them do not want Bush in power. Most agree that neither one of the candidates is addressing the energy independence issue as aggressively as they should but they do favor Kerry over Bush anyday.

So many different viewpoints and angles!
