For those in New Orleans watching Ivan: "The Big One"
http://www.nola.com/hurricane/index.ssf?/washingaway/thebigone_1.html

I discovered this about 20 minutes ago. Scared the hell outta me. Imagine having to get rid of 30 feet of water from "the bowl."

Be careful - and get out early if you have to! :scared:

1. On the other hand, if you ask ~some~ people around here,
Charley already killed thousands of people this year, and George and Jeb arranged to have their bodies slowly filtered into the GA funeral home system and their deaths covered up from their families - all because nobody can prove where it didn't happen.

DU, gotta love it

2. I couldn't bear the thought of New Orleans being hit by a
Category 5.

Be prepared and do a stockup on your resources.

3. The next 24 hours
will be crucial. The meteorologists are saying by tomorrow night they should have a better idea of where Ivan may hit.

That was a very informative article. Scary as all hell, but informative.

Depending on what the meteorologists say tomorrow night, I might be out of here with my children Tuesday morning. :-(

Unfortunately, my husband is on his way to Berlin right now. I've emailed him an update. I really need him to be here now.

4. Best of luck to you.
I'm a bit scared. My sister is a recent nursing school graduate working at Oschner Hospital, and they've already told her that she must show-up to work this week. Hospital buildings have a reputation for being pretty sturdy, but I still feel ill-at-ease about this.
