From Last week:

Vice President Dick Cheney said last week that economic indicators measuring consumer spending and other metrics are overlooking the hundreds of thousands of people who make money on eBay, according to The Associated Press.

I just know that when those economic indicators came out last week, they didn't take into consideration that I found about $25 while doing laundry. And this money was found in a pair of "dry-clean only" pants that I finally got around to using those Dryal Sheets on, so it's probably been at least a month since I've checked those pockets.

Plus at the Grocery Store I found $10. I probably should have said something to the manager at the store, but I really could have used that $10 since payday isn't for 2 days.

So what other ways have you 'earned' money that you just know wasn't factored into the economic indicators. Maybe Dick Cheney will see this thread and comment about these other areas being under-reported so he can explain why our country is prospering even though economic indicators say otherwise!

1. I found a dime!

2. I found 27 dollars in Wal-mart's packing lot.

Only time I have ever found some thing I needed in that store. I still only go in once a year. I did not put it on my tax so guess the Vice is right.

3. I see pennies laying around in the street and on the sidewalk

all the time. They are so prevalent that I often wondered if it would be worth it to start picking them up. Maybe not, because no one has bothered yet. That would be a good job for someone like F.U. Cheney, after he has been stripped of his ill-gotten gains.

4. I'll Be Selling Something on Ebay Soon

A diamond/platinum engagement ring with a platinum shadow band. I bought them for $3,400. I'd settle for selling them for $1,000 -- I could never put that ring on another girl's finger, and no amount of money will bring her back.

Since I'll probably be taking a fairly large loss, I wonder if Cheney would factor THAT into his economic indicator numbers?

I bought groceries the other day, and when giving back my change, the clerk gave me $5 too much (income). I gave it back though (spending). I not only helped increase the income of the average man, but also the GNP and domestic sales.

Damn, but that Cheney is good!
