Then there's no deciding between the two Dukes albumx.

29. Touch
Their one and only album. By far, the greatest psych album of all time. If you haven't heard the glory of Side 2--including the aptly named Severnty-Five-- you are missing a brilliant cultural signpost.

31. I agree!
Do you know when I heard it first? At the 1967 March on Washington D.C. It was also the first time I consumed a well known herbal music enhancer. What a day that was.............

38. my choice as well, though
it NEVER should have been remastered in 71 as much of the trippyness was lost. Other major contenders: Captain Beefheart & The Magic Band, Strictly Personal and Lothar and The Hand People, Space Hymn.

5. Greyfolded -
Which was compiled using "plunderphonics". What it amounts to is a seamless melding of about 150 different versions of Grateful Dead Dark Star jams into one super long 90 minute instrumental Dark Star.

54. Either "Easter Everywhere" or "The Psychedelic Sounds of The 13th Floor
Elevators" should be considered. My favorite is "Easter Everywhere." "Slip Inside This House" is a true classic.

I've heard Roky is doing much better and has been for a number of years.Great to know.

I saw him a number of years ago(early 70s) in Austin at a festival on the outskirts of town called The Hill on the Moon.Willie Nelson was the main act but it was also billed as a comeback for Roky. The show itself was plauged with too much bad acid as well as a number of lowlifes looking for trouble and seeing poor Roky on stage going through a full blown schizophrenic episode puts this event at the top of experiences I'd just as soon have passed on.

Anyway, here's to a happy life for Roky,a gentle soul who's seen more trouble than anyone should have to.

37. when The Red Angel comes
and the TV is cold
will you pray in the dark
for the rest of your soul?

When you lie in the dour death coma
Do you think that you're going to heaven, Johnny?
With a violent heart?

Did I get that right? It's been a long time.

46. Perfect!
I sit alone in the bar
Drinkin' Scarlett O'Haras
I'm kept aroused by the boxing gloves
Enough to punch out fags
Don't startle me by sudden noise
Cuz I'll stomp all over you
And I love it, I love it, I love to fight

And hey, mister.
Tell all the niggers my name is Johnny
Johnny Pissoff.

Last night, had a dream
Of a gook-head skeet-shootin' mama
And the Red Angel was a scoldin' me
And a callin' my name
I woke up all sweating
My Derringer in hand
I have a hand-grenade lighter
And a burp-gun under the bed

And hey, mister.
Tell all the commies my name is Johnny.
Johnny Pissoff.

I'd love to get my hands on Sirhan Sirhan
I'd rip out his spine and shove it down his throat
Today I cut some frogs legs off
And I left them by the pond
But I'd never kill the president
But I kill him in my dreams

And hey, mister.
Tell all the draft card burners my name is Johnny.
Johnny Pissoff

They showed me yesterday
On the TV set
How the cowboys used karate
Hippies parade for freedom
I hear next seasons' Cowboys gonna
Kick each others crotch
Hell, I nearly had to kill a bunch of peace queers
Sunday mornin', holdin' signs outside o' church
Ain't no pink fag legislature gonna
Say I can't have guns

And hey, mister.
Tell all the whole wide sky my name is Johnny.
Johnny PISSOFF!

When the Red Angel comes
And the TV is cold
Will you pray in the dawn
For the rest of your soul
When you lie in the dour death coma
Do you think you're gonna go to heaven,
Oh Johnny,
With a violent heart?

(Are you ready Johnny? I'm the Red Angel.)

Ahimsa, oh Johnny, ahimsa.
In the spinning confusion, ahimsa.
In the flood of life, death, and torture
Ahimsa, ahimsa, ahii-iii-ii-iimsa
Ahimsa is the seashell of Buddha
Ahimsa is the rose and the lamb

When the Red Angel comes
And the TV is cold
Will you pray in the dawn
For the rest of your soul
When you lie in the dour death coma
Do you think you're gonna go to heaven,
Oh Johnny,
With a violent heart?

43. "A Small Package of Value Will Arrive for You Shortly" --
personally I would have nominated "Dragonfly" or "Crown of Creation," but I chose the Jefferson album nominated.

Too bad their visibility has waned -- they were too politically radical and too into drugs to stay in the spotlight.
