1. Well, they're going fast

My grandmother was born in August 1899 and lived until Feburary 2000.

To celebrate her 95th birthday, my brother gave her the New York Times front page for that day: stories about Queen Victoria, the Spanish-American War, and the Dreyfus Affair.

Somebody born in 1900 would be 104 right now, and there are definitely people that old.

A woman who attended my church every Sunday until she entered a nursing home is currenlty 104.

2. I was thinking about that not too long ago.

If I had to guess I would say not more than a couple hundred assuming there are a few people over 104 in each state. I was reading about the oldest person to ever live and I think she was 122. Assuming no one will beat that record anytime soon, but someone could tie it, after 2021 we won't have anyone left from last century. :-)
