14. Oh Hell yeah!
If you made a list of the most recognized guitar riffs in the world, even my mom could pick out "Satisfaction", "Jumping Jack Flash", "Gimme Shelter", "Brown Sugar","Tumblin Dice" etc.

3. Why... My Bloody Valentine, of course.
Kevin Shields and Belinda Butcher are guitar gods, if you're into the whole subtlety thing.

8. yeah, but jerry just about did it alone...the hellacasters all did it.
bobby got better with age, but was not able to go lick for lick with jerry, no way, no how.

garcia, in the early-mid '70's was the best i ever heard. one sustained note and you knew it was him.

9. Sacriledge!!!
It is a mortal sin to even mention that pedestrian human sleeping pill in the same breath as the ineffable Hellecasters. It's like comparing a cub scout to a Green Beret.

10. a speedy hand riff isn't the point, its what you do with the notes
another insouciant, whiny dead-hater 'cause its so chic and contrarian.

ah, will wonders never cease?

11. Still is!
Nobody has equaled him yet-some have come close.
But Jimi still closes the guitar show, no one follows him in the big gig.O8)

16. AC/DC
without question.
Include...

Van Halen...

The Ramones...

Led Zeppelin...

Aerosmith...

Guns and Roses...

Too many to name. Better to ask which band had the best infectious "hooks".

"Walk This Way", comes to mind.

17. Have to mention Television and the Fall
Some ace riffs from both bands. They are unique--Riley and Scanlon, Lloyd and Verlaine sound like nothing else.

comparing apples and oranges. Jimi Hendrix Experience, Cream, Joe Satriani, Metallica, Megadeath, Slayer, Pantera, Johnny Cash, U2, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Black Sabbath, Ministry....too tired to list them all.
