1. I've had it for two weeks

Sore throat, not much nose action though. Coughing. Low grade fever. Turned out to be strep throat.

I've been drinking hot tea and Black Velvet at night for two weeks. At least I can sleep.

If your temp goes up and you have a sore throat, get to a Doc ASAP. Strep can screw up your heart valves.

The good news? You're not alone.

2. hope this is ok but you did ask for ?s - do you take echinacea

when you get a cold... or anything like it

just asking because i love the stuff. it tastes fine and is most helpful when alcohol free liquid. just put it in your mouth and hold it there for a few minutes.
and if you have a sore throat then after you hold it the few minutes, gargle it before swallowing.
or you can just put the dropperful in your water or tea

goldenseal is great in addition to echinacea, but it has a bitter taste plus the supply of the herb is limited

anyway, just wanted to ask! hope you feel better real soon

5. I haven't tried any herbal remedies yet

If I actually felt like going outside I might grab something natural...but since I now have an aversion to the sunlight and fresh air, I'm sticking with DRUGS. Dayquil and Nyquil.

3. That's funny, I've had one too. What the heck is with September colds?

Mine started with an ear infection, then went into a sore throat, then all the garden-variety cold symptoms.

I never used to get sick in the summer or fall -- always used to come down with something in January or February.

Sorry you're down, Scott -- a cold is never welcome, but there's something about a summer cold, when it still warm outside and all, that is really irritating.
