How do you make a picture smaller for posting here?

Technical question I'd appreciate some help with. I consulted the HTML lookup table, but didn't see anything.

1. Use a program like photoshop to change the image size...

and save it as a new image.

download picture resizer.....after you do that. just right click on a pic and then click resize picture....it will give you some resize options.

3. Post a thumbnail...

Host it, and then the next page, scroll down, find the URL, and copy and paste. It's quick and easy.

4. You can change the display size using HTML...

but that won't reduce the file size, so the image will load very slowly for us poor schmucks using dial-up. I just posted a link to a freebie called XnView on another thread, but here it is again. I use a version of this that's about 2 years old and it seems to work okay; haven't tried the new one. :shrug:

The free version will let you do everything you need.

8. Try putting it in bucket of cold water.

That'll shrink anything.
