I wanted a name derived from a Firesign Theatre album, but I didn't want to go with obvious choices like Nick Danger or George Leroy Tirebiter. I wanted a more obscure name. So chose RandomKoolzip. Hideo Gump woulda been my second choice. BFD, right?

From November 2002- March 2004, my name on DU was 'populistmom', but I liked having something with my real name in part and I got tired of people thinking I was a matronly older woman (nothing wrong with matronly older women, I just wasn't ready to be one yet). I went through a lot of personal changes and just needed a change. I am a mom, but I'm myself first and perhaps I got tired of having the 'mom' aspect of myself overshadow everything else.

I had another name in mind, Foghatter, because my real all-time favorite band is Foghat, but they only have a couple really well-known songs and I didn't like anything I came up with as an anti-Bush slogan. The one for BOC's "Godzilla" practically wrote itself.
