My GF said "Get a Life"...
because I wrote Matt Lauer a scathing email yesterday. Keep her or dump her?

Or...get a life?

2. Even I don't confess to my husband that I'm a letter writer...
He thinks my rabid political obsession is bad enough as it is... So yeah, either G.A.L. or just keep quiet about emailing and letter-writing to the less political SO. :-P

I think you know what to do based on that answer.

6. My wife literally screams at me, gets furious
because I talk about *'s evil. She thinks I'm over the edge, closed minded, unwilling to see the basic good in all people, including the neocons....

But she IS voting for Kerry.

7. Along the same lines
"Bush can't be ALL bad, you know. I wish you were a little more open-minded." I told her the only smart thing Bush has done is bomb Afghanistan. Is this an "American Beauty" marriage waiting to happen?

11. Hmmm. Hope not!
But make sure you know what you're getting into before you tie the knot.

In my case, the wife gets mad at me because her folks are lifelong Republicans and she gets defensive when I criticize that party. (Her folks are actually RINO, truth to tell, and I truly love them, but they do vote for the pug candidates, sadly enough.)

15. Hmmm.... that's the kind of thing my ex used to say to me...
One of the reasons that she's my ex. But, that's just me, maybe you can put up with someone who defends Bush.

19. In retrospect, I don't even think bombing Afghanistan was smart
but then that's just me. I do think though, that there are a LOT of people who think Bush "can't be all bad", just because they're used to trusting, more or less, our politicians. I mean, he wouldn't just LIE to us about WMD's, would he? No one in our government would actually conspire to LIHOP or MIHOP 9/11, would they? He wouldn't start a war just to go after oil, would he? He wouldn't support Israel above and beyond other presidents (ie. occupation of the West Bank) in the interest of pushing us down the road to Armageddon and "the Rapture", would he?

The answer to all of the above? YES HE WOULD!

17. such things common practice?
if that's the level of respect she generally shows you, and is callous enough to call you a loser because of what you're passionate about...

well, if that's the case I'd get rid of her

hope it's not the case.

unless she's really really hot and great in bed.

Then keep her until, well, the other bullshit isn't worth the trade.

20. you're into politics and you don't want to see
Kelley getting savaged by the WH operative (Lauer). Sounds TOTALLY resonable to me. "Get a life" comment was inappropriate on her part. You want Bush out so what you did was right.

23. Get a life-- without her in it!
Sorry, but politics and activism are core values, IMO. If she doesn't share those with you it will be a tough relationship to maintain over the long haul...

It's up to YOU, however, whether or not you want to sleep with her till Ms. Right happens along...

25. My opinion?
I like chatting politics, and I like a hearty dose of activism every now and then, and I pretty much demand it of my partner. So, if it's a theme, dump her. If she was in a crabby mood, forgive with stern warning ;)
