Clip art is a synonym, but doesn't get used much any more because it's on disk instead of in a book to be clipped.

(It probably should be two words -- I think one word is jargoning it up.)

Their site (freerepublic.com) is a mess, though, so if they've posted anything about me there, I haven't seen it; I don't have the patience.

There's another site out there that we can't mention (it caused too many disruptions already). But I know some of them lurk over here -- some of them probably even registered and have pretty good post counts...there's a decent chance they've found this thread (maybe one of them's even posted here), and will report back to their site to tell everyone A. how much of an attention whore I am and B. how much of an ego I must have to think they'll report back on the thread...

It means the photo is professional, but generic.

It's neither here nor there. In this context, it could very well be a compliment -- the commentor thought I was hiding something.

I was mocked there once because of something I said and they had to give their commentary about, absolutely clueless as to who I am as a person, my character, or my life. Someone did defend me a bit, but it doesn't matter. I disagree with these people politically, but I, for one, do not make personal attacks because of someone's appearance. If they want to say something about mine, it doesn't matter because I could care less if I appeal to any of them or not because if I did, it would be for shallow reasons only and not substinative matters that really count. Don't let it get to you. You know how cute you are! :D
