Man Threatens To Sue After His Hairpiece Is Snatched In Restaurant

The snatching of a hairpiece off a man's head on Harrisburg's Restaurant Row landed two West Shore men in Dauphin County Court, and left the victim fuming and threatening legal action.

Paul J. Goudy, 25, of the 700 block of Bosler Avenue, Lemoyne, will spend the next 23 months on probation after pleading guilty to theft by unlawful taking.

An alleged accomplice, Matthew G. Flinchbaugh, 26, of Wormleysburg, awaits court action.

Goudy stole a hairpiece and a gold chain worn by Edward Floyd, 60, of Harrisburg.

"Don't these guys have anything better to do than to rob and humiliate someone for absolutely no reason in the world? It's just outrageous," Floyd said. "I'm a nice guy. I don't bother anybody."

1. Reminds me of a story I once heard

A guy with an obvious hairpiece was riding in a crowded subway car. The train came to a sudden stop and the hairpiece went flying--so far he couldn't reach it in the crowd. People picked it up and very gingerly passed it back to him. He got off, very red-faced, at the next stop, and the moment the doors closed behind him the whole car erupted into laughter.

6. I Just Don't Know What We're Going To Do About The Word "Snatch"

This morning I heard ol' Arlis Struvie reminding us that if there's a word in the dictionary that we think ought not be in the dictionary that we should just write that word on a piece of paper and send it it to "Smut Snatchers" in care of the station. They'll pass it along to Vera Carp and the word will be removed from the dictionary at the school.
