Why does no one ever apologize to me?

On several occasions I've asked for apologies because they said something about me that wasn't true, and that they couldn't back up. On occasion I have been misquoted, or even had lies told about my positions. Again, in the absence of any proof on their part I asked for an apology. Nothing.

I have apologized before. Will do it again when it becomes necessary. Why don't people seem willing to return the common courtesy? Sad really. :-(

People rarely apologize on the internet, and they're even MORE reluctant to do so when somebody asks for or demands an apology. Just the nature of online discussion.

I think you got it half right really. In general people seem reluctant to apologize. In RT or on the internet. No one likes admiting they are in the wrong.

Just ask for them on occassion. Would be nice to get one once in a while.

I don't do the ignore thingy. I think I have used it once and that was to "blast through" the attempts of a disrupter to crash the board. He was posting about 40 threads a minute or something. Was very annoying.

For the same reasons you mentioned... that I was accused of saying things I never said, and repeatedly all the things I did say were ignored and twisted, and each time I would point that out, another twisted lie was the response... So, yes, I have one person on ignore.

as if doing so is a sign of weakness. (Last I knew, everyone is wrong at least once in their life, so admitting so only means you admit that you're human...)
