Good lord. I just was in the smoking area and put out my cigarette and said "OKAY!" and started to leave...blah blah blah .I am standing there facing away from the guy speaking and on he went until finally there was a break and again I said "OKAY!" and walked.

5. what i sometimes do...
give them that thousand yard stare, out of focus, jaw slack, head slightly tilted...then give a slight jerk, focus on their eyes and ask "were you saying something?"

9. We used to have a guy like that at work....
one of those who couldn't recognize the natural END of a conversation, and would just keep talking, awkward pauses and all.

I'd start typing one of my documents, start rudely jamming food in my mouth in front of him...nothing worked. Finally, I'd just get up, say "I have a deadline," and begin closing the door. He'd finally take the hint. But it would take at least another 5 to 1o minutes to evict him completely from my office.

Thank God he got laid off a few years ago. (I'm not insensitive really, I just meant thank God for me; not him)
