I'm job hunting and getting frustrated
Last spring when I got a temp job, I was getting lots of calls and interviews, but now I can't even get anyone to talk to me! I have a strong resume for the positions I am applying to and I thought the economy was pretty good in Houston. I'm thinking about giving up and just going to Borders or Barnes and Noble or maybe a liquor store to apply. This is just exasperating.

1. What kind of work are you looking for?
Have you called a recruiter?

Good luck.

3. Accounting
Yeah, I can't even get Accountemps etc to call me. It's really weird because they all wanted to talk to me last spring.

2. You could always become a trucker
Some companies will pay for your CDL licensing if you sign a one year contract to work with them. Starting pay is $35,000-$40,000 a year. Truckers are always in demand.

Sending CV's sucked.
I was in the same position and began to get demoralized. Took a job in a 24-hr supermarket to get the juices going. Then a coffee shop/bookstore. and so on . ..long story but I'm now working at a University. Benefits & all.

Do it. Baby steps.
