1. Dont do anything.
Dude, let them pray. If you dont like it, dont partcipate, but
dont go trying to interfere with their freedom of expression.
You sound like the same type of person who screams
"Fascist" every time somebody wont let them wear a
certain T-shirt. Honestly.

When I was in high school they prayed too. I didnt agree with
public prayer like that, so I didnt particpate, but I'd never
suggest they shouldnt be allowed to do it.

3. only protest it if they're using school dollars
and supplies to promote it - otherwise it's like chess club (well except without the chess and without the smart people).

4. Looks like a pack of Bullshit to me.
I mean, you attend school to learn, not to praise a piece of cloth or
the Sky Fairy.
What the heck does this have to do with "getting an Education" except
of course, if you want to be a good little Lamb? (sheep)

10. Oh...about the Sky Fairy...
the first day of school this year, I was the only kid to sit during the "moment" of "silence". the next week, every kid sat. the day after that, the teacher sat.

5. If we're going to pull the
Right to free speech card out all the time, we have to let others use it, too. It's supremely hypocritical, otherwise. Let them do what they are doing, and just stay away. They're not hurting anyone by practicing their beliefs, so just let it be.

6. I respectfully disagree
By using my Tax Dollars to hold organized prayer during school hours, they're spitting on the Constitution. (sep. of Church-State)

7. All the ones I know about happening
Happened before school hours, and did not cause any disruption to the school day whatsoever. I know the local high school has a bible club, not sure when it meets, but I presume it meets on school grounds. (This was pretty astounding to a CT native, living in IN now...)

I'm not sure that the 'outside of school hours' really makes it any better, but I wanted to clarify that point.

And just in case you, or anyone else don't know, "the words: "separation", "church", and "state" do not even appear in the first amendment. The first amendment reads, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof..." The statement about a wall of separation between church and state was made in a letter on January 1, 1802, by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association of Connecticut."

I thought for a long time it was written in officially somewhere, alas, such is not the case.

8. You've got every right to pray
whatever you want to pray. You would be merely expressing your right. If they don't like it, tough shit. Maybe they'll keep their bullshit at home where it belongs.

11. atheists, separatists, etc. SETTLE DOWN
they used to hold this shit at my school all the time. i'm an agnostic, so i never participated.

the school did not endorse nor support in anyway this action, and it ALWAYS happened before or after school hours, and from my knowledge, it is the same scenario pretty much everywhere else.

there is nothing wrong with that. i say let em.
