Need some techie help here
Edited on Tue Sep-14-04 05:17 PM by northstar
My child wants to print out this pic to bring to school tomorrow (they're talking about hurricanes).....but when I tried to print it out, it just prints a portion of the pic (what-a-waste-o-ink!). How can I get this to print out on an 8.5x11?

(changed size to 8.5x11 - dumb mistake@me)

5. Actually forget word... Use Windows Paintbrush... Word takes too long
Edited on Tue Sep-14-04 05:27 PM by Misunderestimator
Open Paintbrush from Start Menu-> Run-> "pbrush"

right click on this photo, and select "copy"
go to the paintbrush window and paste it (right click and "paste")

Then go to the Image menu in Paintbrush, select Stretch/Skew

In the TWO boxes for "Stretch" put 50, and it will reduce the whole image by half. IMPORTANT to enter 50 in both boxes, or it will stretch it.

In Page Setup (file menu->Page Setup) - Choose Landscape Orientation, and then Print (file->Print)

If not all of it is on the page you can try reducing it a bit further by entering 90 in both of the stretch boxes.

Hope it helps.

10. You could see if they can get the satellite to go
up a little higher... and take another picture.... it should fit then. :)

Reminds me of how you capture an alligator (sp) with a pair of binoculars, tweezers, and a matchbox.

9. :-) Many many thanks! It printed out in a decent size!
(my child says 'thank you' too!) There's gonna be at least 30 children tomorrow talking about the Yucatan Peninsula, Florida, Cuba, and Jamaica b/c of being able to bring in this really cool picrture.....they'll be talking about the dynamics of hurricanes as well.

Thanks again! :-)

4. Copy and paste to Microsoft Paint (accessories)
and then skew the picture in both direction until it fits on a page.

7. Also....When you Print (or should I say Before you Print)
..Use the "Print Preview" to see what the final result will be.

That's why it's there. :)
