I am afraid to even look for a graphic, but the curser turns into this rainbow striped circle that spins as if to say "isn't this much more interesting than running anything on your computer? No? Well too bad sucker I have disabled your ability to input anything HAHAHA"

that I really need as much ram as i ask for. It'll take months to get him to upgrade me

and im still WAAAAY underpowered. i assume you dont install your own ram? cause then, you could possibly just buy some out of pocket, and just take his upgrade home with you
