I lost it at work today........
Edited on Tue Sep-14-04 07:09 PM by Darth_Kitten
was having a nice day, then, boom......I'm called to help others...I'm tired of being the only person to help help help, I came back to my own desk, only there a week before holidays!! (yeah!!) but it's like a month behind and I wanted to get it caught up before I left for my holidays... (in three days, yeah!!!) I was covering others for the entire summer, and wanted to get back into my old routine.

So I have to help out in my old section, and cannot do the work on my quite behind desk.
I went to the supervisor, can't so and so do it? Well, no, it's been busy for us too and so and so isn't trained yet (only started a few months ago)......why is my desk behind, it's always the desk that gets behind? We had summer students helping, couldn't the other staff have done more??

(I am coming back to this particular section after a couple years absence, and I see the same games starting over again, I help others out, and they don't help me out, so I'm playing "catchup" everywhere, plus the floor supervisor is a vindictive monster out to get me)

geez, now I feel a little guilty about being "cranky" but geez, I tell, others tell, the super what's going on time and time again, and all we get is all the "it's a busy season, everyone is busy" or some other namby pamby answer.
I wish but cannot tell them how to do their jobs, get on people's tails for being so lazy and causing stress to others all the time. The place never changes....

I'll applied out of this section, so my fingers are crossed. Til then, I'm stuck......

End of rant....sorry if I'm babbling, I'm a little out of sorts... :D

1. You need to watch office space again.
Make yourself LOOK busy while actually doing about 15 minuts of real work a week.

Then get promoted to do even LESS.

but I was one of those naive characters who actually believed that hard work got you somewhere...heh heh...

and now that they know about me, I cannot escape their clutches....

3. Sounds like you're a victim of your own competence.
I hate to tell you but people who are too valuable at what they are doing never get advanced or promoted. But good luck anyway.
