I pulled in to Nazareth, I was feeling about half past dead...
Hopefully, everybody'll know to add a line subject line by subject line; you can skip the refrain if you want though.

For extra credit, explain the Crazy Chester stanza. Was Chester threatening him? Why "I'm a peaceful man" (besides that it rhymes)? Fix your what?

10. It's "He said 'I will fix your ____/ if you take Jack my dog'"
where the blank sounds most like "wreck"; then comes I said 'Wait a minute Chester/ You know I'm a peaceful man'/ He said, 'That's ok, boy, won't you feed him when you can?' Whatever you put after "fix your" (wreck, rack, Iraq), it still doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

11. not to get off course too much.....
but my favorite mis heard lyric comes from a beach boys song.. Help Me Rhonda.

" Since she put me down, there's been owls pooping on my head "

I have NO idea what the correct lyrics are.

12. No, that's right :)
According to a pretty definitive site, it's:
"Well, since she put me down
I`ve been out doing in my head"

Do I have any guess what this means? Nooooooo. I liked your way better!

18. I laughed for 5 minutes...
That is too funny! And it is "out doin' in my head". So, I guess if you think about it, poop was happening either way.

Thanks for the laugh!

Peace

14. ...
I've always thought it was rack, as in a slang term for a bed.

I've also always thought it was 'take a load off Annie', but how can one tell since the ending of the prior lyric is ff ??

off Annie
off Fanny

best. singer. ever. eh?

13. I always thought it was "Annie." An "Annie Lee" appears in the song...
Thought Annie and Annie Lee were the same,

But who knows??

I pulled in to Nazareth, was feeling 'bout half past dead
I just need some place where I can lay my head
``Hey mister, can you tell me where a man might find a bed?''
He just grinned and shook my hand, ``No'' was all he said

Take a load off, Fanny
Take a load for free
Take a load off, Fanny
And you put the load right on me

I picked up my bag, I went looking for a place to hide
When I saw Carmen and the Devil walking side by side
I said ``Hey Carmen, come on, let's go downtown''
She said ``I gotta go but my friend can stick around''

Go down Miss Moses, there's nothing you can say
It's just old Luke, and Luke's waiting on the judgement day
``Well, Luke my friend, what about young Anna-Lee?''
He said ``Do me a favour son, won't you stay and keep Anna-Lee company?''

Crazy Chester followed me and he caught me in the fog
He said ``I will fix your rat if you'll take Jack my dog''
I said ``Wait a minute Chester, you know I'm a peaceful man''
He said ``That's okay boy, won't you feed him when you can?''

Catch a cannonball now to take me down the line
My bag is sinking low and I do believe it's time
To get back to Miss Fanny, you know she's the only one
Who sent me here to the Brewery tonight, with her regards for everyone

----

Fog something to do with Jack the Ripper?

Chester like Chesterfields; Fog of smoke; rack - chest; followed me like an addiction?

Carmen - girl with VD? Go downtown - my friend the devil (VD) can stick around?
