My future-ex, 40 years old, finally got her driver's license today!

I can't imagine not having the freedom of movement a driver's license gives you. I'd be crazier than I already am!

6. It's rough not being able to drive in most

of the country. Good for her that she finally learned! It's a real confidence builder. (I had a 3 year-old child before I finally got my license, so I know something about it.)

7. Haven't driven since I was 16...

It's been 25 years and I don't miss it; always liked riding shotgun anyway, and I can go faster on my mountain bike then most cars in traffic if Im motivated..

8. i know a lot of manhattanites who never drive

most actually have licenses, but only for id.

some are scared to even rent a car because they haven't driven
ever except just to get the license in the first place!

very bizarre for someone who didn't grow up in the city, but i guess it makes sense, as maintaining a car in manhattan is very painful in more ways than one.

10. i have a friend in the W 90s who parks hers at her mom's in Bronxville

and takes the train out there to get it on the weekends...

9. I had a friend like that and she was a pain in the dupa

because she was always "needing a ride" but never offered a dime in gas money. I recall the time I drove her ungrateful but to DC so she could meet up with her boyfriend. I spent the weekend with a friend and then went to pick her up...and she then tells me..."my boyfriend was saying that you're not as fat as he thought you were.."...I was ready to drop her back off with her jerky boyfriend.
