any country music fans here to help a poor girl out?
i know very little of country music, unless you count hearing "okie from muskogie" when i was growing up

anyway. can you direct me to a website or resource that could help me track down a country song from april/may 1999?
ive tried that here and there over the past 5 yrs but no luck so far.

- male lead or group (background vocals so im not sure if its one or more guys)

- must have been a hit because i heard it a couple times within same week (had to go to laundromat that week)

- the song is about a guy wishing he had his girl back. sorry that things went bad or that he drove her away and wishing things could be the way they used to be

thanks a heap

1. hmmmm,that could be ANYTHING
since all country music songs are based on losing something.you know what happens when you play a country record backwards? (someone else can do the punchline...)

"Country Music" is an oxymoron ... but just my opinion.

6. wish i knew anything specific besides the theme of
wanting this girl back something fierce and if he could do it all over again,

those are likely in there somewhere!

it was a sweet and sad song, not honky tonk country, but something middle of the roadish crossover i guess since i liked it

sorry i cant be of more help to my own question!

5. you've named about 70% of country songs.
20% have the gender reversed, same problem
10%, the dog leaves too.

dont think so.

no dog.

just the lost love theme that most songs have. see weve narrowed it down already!

7. the clues don't narrow it down much
If it was still a hit in September and a big enough hit to crack the overall chart, Billboard has a "5 years ago today" chart.

http://countrymusic.about.com/library/top500/bltop500.htm">about country has links to a bunch of country charts.

I'm not where I can look it up easily right now.

have you worn out google looking?
