I watched "Unprecedented" on the Sundance Channel last night, and saw the video of the GOP-freeper operatives trying to stop the hand recount, in Florida, in 2000. I thought it was one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen -- but that paled in comparison to the dream from which I just woke.
I was staying at some kind of like low-key campground, where the GOP happened to be holding some kind of tent revival/convention thing. The "freepers" had not yet arrived, but when they did, they pulled up in this black bus, and they looked just like the kids at the recount -- kind of clean-cut, in dress clothes -- but the clothes were like these really bright colors, and they all had colored or streaked hair, AND they didn't have any irises or pupils -- just white eyes. And they saw me and instantly knew that I wasn't one of them, and they proceeded to, you know, "eyeball" me, like they were going to hunt me down and kill me.
Luckily, however, it just so happened that my friends at the campground included the entire cast of the TLC show "Trading Spaces," who knew what to do. They left, and came back on four-wheel ATVs, with wagons behind them, carrying mysterious briefcase-looking things.
I was thinking maybe it was guns or protection or something -- but the things in the briefcases were actually tons of incriminating classified documents that no one had ever seen before, clearing up everything about 9-11, the Iraq Invasion, the Prison Abuse Scandal, Plame, The Pentagon Spy, The Neocons, George Bush's AWOL, The Medicare Scandal -- ALL OF IT. In other words, the truth.
When the freepers saw them pull in, they already knew what was in the briefcases, and they started to like jerk and twitch and walk toward them -- it was kind of like the "Thriller" video. They were closing in on the Trading Spaces people -- obviously to get their hands on the briefcases, and stop the TS people from giving them to the press or something -- a parallel of their thugging in Florida.
Then, I woke up.
Except instead of waking up to a safe reality, where the monster doesn't exist -- freepers are alive and well. If the same thing happens this time, and they send operatives, I'm going to be there. I have a FERVOR that the gooniest freeper cannot match.
Seriously, though -- has anyone else seen the documentary? Did it make you cry, like it did me? Did it make you wish that Katherine Harris gets eaten by a swamp alligator, like it did me?
