his early 60s live version of "Green Green Grass of Home" He turned this borderline schlock into a thing of breathtaking beauty
his whorehouse stride runthrough of "Great Speckled Bird" is sacred/profane genius
Jerry Lee's take on the very incorrect "Ol' Black Joe" is also phenomenal
Jerry Lee Lewis is an American genius (with all that status encompasses)

My most recent Jerry Lee Lewis release is his 1995 CD, "Young Blood." He was 59 years old when he recorded that album, and you know what? It rocked every bit as hard as his Sun material!

They don't call him "The Killer" for nothing, y'all!
