Lap kitty!
I woke up at 3 a.m. with a toothache so I downed some pain killers, anti-inflammatories and antibiotics and lay down on the couch to read while I was waiting for them to take effect.

My normally non-lap-kitty curled up in my lap and licked my hands.

How do they know?

1. Our pets know more than we give them credit for...
Our late beloved cat Missy used to do the same thing. I'd be feeling poorly and she'd get up on my chest, gentle as could be and just purr.

I miss her a lot...

2. Instinct and...
...all animals are liberals and therefore compassionate.

Hope you feel better! Nothing can hurt like hell like a toothache!

3. Smell.
Our emotions alter the substances we give off in the air. They cal smell fear, pain, love etc.

4. They know. I was in bed last week with a bad ear infection...
And my cat Dobbs kept an eye on me all the time. And he's not crazy about getting on the bed during summer -- he'd rather perch in a window or lie on the bathroom tile where it's cool.

TrogL, take care of that toothache -- they're nothing to fool around with, or ignore!

5. The only time mine get along well enough
to lie on the bed together is when I'm not feeling well (or one of them is asleep). I can't keep them away when I'm sick. They play nursey maid.

Hope you can get to a dentist soon.
