Well, the job hunt goes full force today.
After today, I've had enough. I love everyone I work with, and I like my job. But a man's gotta say enough's enough.

3. Basically I'm not appreciated
Which BOGGLES MY MIND. This paper was a laughing stock before I took over. I mean that too..other publishers and editors in the area have given me countless compliments on how much I have improved it, even the editorial director for the whole damn CHAIN has told me that. As well the paper gets finished by about 10:00 on production day, the last editor was always here until two in the morning.
So today, my boss gives me a bunch of shit because she didn't like the paper. She said she wants it to go back the way it was before (I held my breath).
See the problem is she knows nothing of this business and started as an advertising sales person.
Only one of her complaints were justified. Even then, it was the kind of thing that just happens in this business. Then she said "I've never had an editor who took so many weekends off as you. - I take Saturday off - that's it, I'm usually working Sunday evening. And on weeknights I'll sometimes work untill 11:00 am. So if they want me to work 10 hours a day 7 days a week, they best start paying me better.
I like my boss, but this was too much, if she's to fucking dumb to know when her paper is better - forget it, my talents are wasted here.
The other problem is her Son-in-law is a past editor - he did a shit job, but because they are related she LOVES his work - even though it was crap. So she is comparing my work to his...thinking his is better.

5. Also!
The press bitched to head office about me because the other night I dropped the paper off at the wrong slot...I should mention we ALWAYS send our paper through the net to the press. And this time was the first time I've ever had to hand deliver it. SO OF COURSE I'M NOT GONNA KNOW WHAT SLOT TO PUT IT IN!!!
Don't I get fucking points for driving an hour and 20 minutes in a rainstorm at 10:00 at night to drop it offf!!!!!!

9. Try working in quality assurance
You are responsible if anything goes wrong. Production hates you though when that slows them down. Most people never see what you do or appraeciate it.
I already know where I work is bad for my mental health. I am beginning to realize that perhaps the entire career path is bad for my mental health.
