Poll question: What music should I houseclean to next?
My mother is coming to visit tomorrow and no matter how clean a place is, it's never clean enough for her. So I'm doing an ultra-superduper cleaning like you can't imagine. Started at 10am this morning with Led Zeppelin I and now we're almost at the end of In Through the Outdoor.

I have much cleaning left to do. I'm going to pick another section of my CD Jukebox and start from there. What should be my next group to houseclean to???

1. Pure Disco, and sing "Boogie Oogie Oogie" at the top of your lungs
It's cathartic.

2. I'm Partial To The Beatles Or Bach
Just clean at your own pace to what music you like to listen to.

Just don't adopt a fat, hairy cat in the meantime....

4. a woman after my own heart!!!
I will say this much, ELO sounds 1000% better on vinyl. Something about side 3 of ELO's Out of the Blue (Concerto for a Rainy Day) sounds better with all the fuzz noise that vinyl has!

6. I agree..most of that music sounds better on vinyl because CD
washes out the beautiful mid tones in favor of the highs and lows...THINK OF ME when Shangri-la comes on...one of my FAVE ELO tunes :D

10. Man I wish I had a turn table
I have a slew of ELO on vinyl and I really want to listen to them on a record player

I think maybe I'll get a turntable this week, but not a new one, but an oldfangled 70's version. I have just the spot an antique washtable where I could put it and stash my LPs (over 200) next to it.

16. Look in your local recycler magazine
You can get a decent Technics turntable for which parts are still available and there is nothing that goes wrong with them that cannot be fixed reasonably (and they are good DJ quality turntables)

13. So why bother?
"My mother is coming to visit tomorrow and no matter how clean a place is, it's never clean enough for her. So I'm doing an ultra-superduper cleaning like you can't imagine. Started at 10am this morning..."

If it is never clean enough for your mother in law, invite her to clean to her perfection.
You live there. Your mother in law is but a visiter.

19. It's my mother and it's not that easy
Believe me, I'd love nothing more than to tell her to stop bugging me about how clean my place is and do it yourself. But then she'll give me guilt trips for the next 5 years about how she cleaned my place, the sacrifices shes made for me and how maybe she was never really meant to be a mother.

:eyes:

I love her to death but that's why I don't live any closer than 2 hours from her. Thank goodness she remarried and inherited a stepdaughter that did all the things I was keen on doing (getting married, having kids being a housewife, etc. etc.).

And on a bright note, she visits me twice a year and twice a year I do a major housecleaing. It works out in the long run.

15. ELO or Meatloaf.
Put on "Bat out of Hell"...

"I GOTTA KNOW RIGHT NOW!"
"If I clean it,
if I clean it forever,
will you dump there,
without complaining.
It'll make me so happy
for the rest of my life,
to hear you say 'with
a crapper like that,
you'd make a pretty good wife..."
